New titanium seatpost from Seven Cycles

Seven Cycles' new titanium seatpost (Seven Cycles)
Massachusetts-based Seven Cycles have brought out a new seatpost made of 3Al-2.5V titanium.
The post weighs in at 249g (385mm length), and Seven say it has a unique set-back head design with dual-bolt saddle adjustment.

It can be custom made to any length you want – although it is only available in 27.2mm diameter – and comes with a lifetime warranty.
Rob Vandermark, president of Seven Cycles, said: “People have repeatedly asked us to offer this product, but we wanted to ensure that our solution was going to deliver innovative features that would benefit all kinds of riders.
“Making installation and setup as simple as possible was a consideration for the design team. Form and function were of equal importance to the final product."
The seatpost is available now for US$325 (approx £225). For details, visit Seven Cycles' website.

why is that not lighter? why would you buy a post that is so expensive when there are millions (well not quite!) of lighter and cheaper alternatives,

So, what are these "innovative features that would benefit all kinds of riders"? What does "unique set-back head design with dual-bolt saddle adjustment" mean?

USD 325 for 249 gr??? Thanks - but no thanks. I see only one "innovative" feature here - and it is that someone trying to stole our hard earn money...

Sheepsteeth,
The whole, and only point of this is to offer something different, striking yet low-key, and classy.
The ONLY bikes this would look good on, are raw-finished, titainium bikes, like some of the titainium Litespeed's, or the Seven bikes themselves. Otherwise, an drastically overpriced, and (reasonably) heavy lump of titainium. Nice try, but you WONT be getting my hard-earned cash with this one Seven.

what a hideous waste of money: There are lighter, better looking and more inovative designs out there. Does anyone really need a custom length seatpost? Surely you slide it up and down the seat tube to get your own 'custom' length?

Apart from the price, yes people do need custom lengths. I am tall and have needed a 500mm seatpost to run on my fave compact hardcore hardtails at xc pedalling height. Shame i can't afford this one though.

man a 500mm post would put some serious stress on your frame. there's a reason they don't make posts that long, it's called leverage.
the price is retarded and the head looks like crap. if you want to spend that kind of money on a ti post, get an eriksen, i'm sure he'd cut it to a certain length if you want him to. only 27.2 how custom can you get. it would be awesome paying that much for a post then an extra 10 bucks for a shim lol
