The contract between Trek and Nike ceases at the end of December 2007 and will not be renewed. The current Spring and Summer range will still be widely available and there will be a final Autumn/Winter range. Trek also has the right to sell Nike product until the end of December 2008. Trek will warrant all current products where sold under the limited warranty of an item.
The separation will not affect any relationship with Lance Armstrong, which is totally separate from any Nike deal. Lance is apparently a Trek athlete for life.
In the future Trek hope to expand and develop its own clothing range. In the meantime here's a taster of some of the new Nike product that's still well worth buying. The new Poggio Ultralight Limited Edition as worn by Discovery Pro Rider Levi Leipheimer in Paris-Nice. Retails for £129.99 and is available in limited edition "Alpe D'Huez" colours.
