PIC BY TDWSPORT.COM Just a couple of days after Lance Armstrong suggested that he might ride Paris-Roubaix next month, Discovery Channel team manager Johan Bruyneel has categorically stated he won't. "At 33 years old, I don't think it's time for him to learn about Paris-Roubaix," Bruyneel said at Paris-Nice on Monday, adding: "We have got a team full of specialists, and Lance doesn't have any place in this race." Armstrong had said in a TV interview at the weekend that it was up to Bruyneel to decide whether the six-time Tour winner would appear at Roubaix. But it seems that the cobbled classic is too risky a race for the Texan. "His big goal is the Tour de France, and I don't think it would be very intelligent to ride in a race like Paris-Roubaix and take useless risks," Bruyneel said. The Tour of Flanders is still very much on Armstrong's programme, however, and the Belgian press is reporting that he will appear at Flche Brabanconne on March 27 as part of his preparation for the 'Ronde'. Armstrong is also expected to ride Paris-Camembert on March 29.
