Nutcase helmets available in UK

By Matthew Cole

Nutcase helmets were launched at this month's Cycle Show in London and are now available to buy in the UK for the first time.

Advertised using the slogan “I love my brain”, they were created to fill a gap in the market for head protection with good looking, ‘fun’ graphics.

The company says it wants to do for helmets what Swatch did for watches.

Aimed at commuter riders, the helmets cost £40-£45 and there are more than 1,000 designs available worldwide. A ‘Little Nut’ version of the adult-size helmets will be coming soon.

Go to NutCaseHelmets for more info.

What do you make of the Nut Case? If this encourages more people to wear helmets, all the better? Leave a comment in the box below.

  • I've had one of these for about a year, it's got a jellybean pattern on it. My wife found it in Netto in the last of line bin for £2.99 \o/

If anyone can find a matching t-shirt.... :-)

  • The helmet you found was from PTI a sub license from the early days of Nutcase and has nothing to do with the helmetline now. Usually sold only through Target in the USA for 19,95. So you where pretty lucky :-). I use Nutcase since years and know that they totally changed strategy to independent bike dealers with a different helmet for 50 USD net in the States and around 52 EUR net in Europe. You'll find dealers in EU through www.nutcasehelmets.eu because Nutcase USA doesn't sell to EU.

  • But now back to the question why I have a Nutcase. First I love the name. My kid already has the Little Nutty and loves it. We all know a helmet doesn't make you nicer so I found Nutcase and it was the first fashionable helmet I've ever seen. I also love the story of the Brand that I found in the web. That's how I become wearing helmets :-). It's just like wearing glasses from Kata or IC Berlin.

  • macbain75, I suspect that you are the guy who imports nutcase helmets into europe and I claim my £5 ;)

i like the graphics but why are they so expensive? other good skateboard style helmets cost less than £20, unfortunately theres not much to be found in toddler size.

  • we stock Nutcase helmets and have had them available from our website and instore

at ridelow.co.uk sales have been steady. The helmets are very well made and are a welcome fashion accessory for all bike fashionistas. We where the first to sell them in the UK then again ridelow have always had a good eye for what is going to be hot and very cool.
