Over 900 riders take on Selkirk Merida Marathon

Mountain biking bliss in Scotland

The Selkirk round of the Merida Bikes MTB Marathon Series 2009 took place at the weekend, with over 900 mountain bikers taking on the challenge of the 28, 45, 70 and 80km courses.

Good weather and great riding ensured that the penultimate stage of the series was enjoyed by all. Rider photos are available from www.rightplacerighttime.co.uk.

The first rider on the 28km Mini Marathon made it over the line in just under two hours while the last participant in the 88km full marathon took eight hours and 41 minutes to complete the challenging course.
