An image of deceased Tour de France winner Marco Pantani is being auctioned by UK charity DrugScope

An image of deceased Tour de France winner Marco Pantani is being auctioned by UK charity DrugScope as part of their Thin Lines White Lies exhibition. The exhibition is intended to raise awareness of how drugs are affecting people's lives - in the media, in sport, and within our families and communities. The Pantani image - the famous photo from 1998's Tour de France where "Elefantino" led a riders' protest against anti-drugs police - sits alongside iconic drugs related images such as Mick Jagger leaving court with Marianne Faithfull in 1969 and hard hitting pictures of real-life drug abusers.

The event will culminate with an auction of all the exhibits to raise funds for DrugScope. The auction will also be open online at the DrugScope website _ www.drugscope.org.uk from 7th - 15th November where you can bid for these images.

DrugScope is the leading UK charity working to improve the quality and availability of drug services, ensuring that people with problems get the information and support they need to break out of the cycle of dependency.
