Belgian cross-country racer Roel Paulissen will be back aboard a Cannondale in 2007 after signing a two-year agreement with the Dutch-registered Cannondale-Vredestein Mountain Bike Racing Team. The 30-year old, who lives in the Italian South Tyrol, raced for the Siemens-Cannondale team in 2003 and 2004 and has spent the last two seasons at the Giant team.

Paulissen was third in the marathon world championship in August, was ranked seventh in the world at the end of the 2006 season, and was also seventh in the World Cup cross-country series. He is the Belgian national champion.

In addition to Paulissen, the Cannondale-Vredestein team for 2007 consists of New Zealander Kashi Leuchs and Swede Fredrik Kessiakoff, who finished third in the 200 cross country world championships.

Dane, Jakob Fuglsang, winner of the 2005 espoirs World Cup, has extended his contract for an additional two years. Like Paulissen, he is assured of a place in the team through the 2008 Olympic Games.
