Urban freeride meets slopestyle as 27 of the world's best
Oddly, there are people you get used to seeing upside down, no-footed and 20ft in the air, and there are some you don't. Greg Minnaar is one of the latter. In the mountain bike dictionary he's the personification of DH racer. His style is graceful, effortless, and oh so textbook, and he's been World DH Champion and overall World Cup DH Champion twice all by the age of 24.
And yet we're here at the Red Bull District Ride, somewhat bemused, watching this race-head pulling in more applause with his huge backflips, superman seat grabs, no-footed cancans and immense moto-whips than some of the most accomplished riders out there. Chase, Basagoita, Strait, Rennie, Minnaar, Ebbet, Pritzel, McCaul; Just about all of the best bikers on the planet are here. And top UK boys Chopper, Gee and Chris Smith are here to take them on.
So which riders really went massive? Who was super tech? Who sent the massive crowd wild? All the action, all the pics, all the partying
it's brought to you in glorious Technicolor in the latest issue of Mountain Biking UK, available from your friendly local newsagent NOW!.
