Wooden Spoon, the UK charity that helps mentally, physically and socially disadvantaged children, young adults and their families is celebrating its Silver Jubilee year with an End 2 End Challenge, which takes place from Saturday, August 23 to Saturday, August 30.
Up to 30 people are expected to cycle the 882 miles from John O’Groats to Lands End as they each bid to raise £2,500 to support Wooden Spoon’s work.
Riders will receive back up from a team of support vehicles along the route. Shirts, accommodation, breakfasts and lunches will also be provided.
Other activities being arranged to mark the event include the Great Lakeland Challenge (canoeing, cycling and hiking) and the Four Peaks Challenge, climbing four mountain ranges (Ben Nevis, Helvellyn, Snowdon and Carantouhill) inside 48 hours.
