Road bike sportive to partner mountain bike marathon series

By Matthew Cole

The Gore Bike Wear Road Sportive Series will be run in tandem with the Merida Bikes Marathon Series in 2008, and it’s set to be a great challenge with fantastic scenery through Wales, Cumbria and the Scottish borders.

There’ll be a classic 80-100 mile challenge as well as a shorter 50 mile option, with rides starting and finishing in the same location as the mountain bike stages, making for a bustling event village.

Rides will commence at 8am on the Saturday, and will stay open for two hours to allow for a relaxing start. Although the course will be fully marked, backup maps will be provided as will refreshments along the way.

So when and where will it all take place?
