Rose X-Lite TT Flyer - First look

Plus Edel-Rose retro singlespeed

German online giants Rose have fast gained a reputation for excellent value own-brand bikes and equipment. The X-Lite TT Flyer displayed at this week's Munich Bike Expo is no exception. The eagle-eyed among you may find the design somewhat familiar. That’s because the TT Flyer is based on Ridley’s Dean time trial bike.

Rose don’t hide the fact, with the frame boasting its Ridley design credentials. What makes the TT-Flyer 8800 most impressive is its pricetag – £6,709 for a bike equipped with full SRAM Red, an FSA Vision TriMax carbon chainset and bars, and Ridley’s aero brakes. Not to mention the Lightweight VR8 and disc wheel combo which retails at €3,480 alone. A more affordable version with Mavic Cosmics and SRAM Force is also available for £3,619.

Also new for 2012 is the singlespeed/fixed-gear Edel-Rose, which commemorates the business's founders. With a butted and lugged steel frame, Brooks saddle and leather bar tape it certainly looks the part. Neat additions like the lugged chromed stem and backswept bars make it look worth every cent of its €1,199 pricetag.

Metallic silver and chromed lugs make the edelrose a real looker:
