Classic cycling brands from Italy to show newest gear at The Cycle Show this September

With Vincenzo Nibali’s recent dominance in the Tour de France, it’s no surprise that Italian bikes are hot at the moment.

At The Cycle Show this September, you’ll be able to get up close with the latest Italian bikes from the country’s most prestigious manufacturers, as well as stylish, new-to-the-market brands.

Cannondale’s Ivan Basso will even be opening the show, which will run at the Birmingham NEC from 26 to 28 September. Check out all the Italian brands in attendance below.

Bianchi

Famous for its celeste green paintwork, Bianchi has been building bikes since 1885 and counts Fausto Coppi, Felice Gimondi and Marco Pantani among its champions. 12 Giro d’Italias, three Tour de Frances, two Vuelta a Espanas, and an incredible 57 classics titles have all been won on Bianchi bikes.

At The Cycle Show, Bianchi will be showing off its new Aquila CV time trial bike, which was unveiled at the Tour de France.

De Rosa

2013 marked 60 years in the cycling business for De Rosa, during which time the brand’s prestige has grown and grown. Still a family company, De Rosa now produces bikes in carbon, aluminium, titanium and steel. This year saw the successful launch of the King RS Action and the Idol and there’s sure to be another exciting line-up in Birmingham this year.

Campagnolo

The choice of the discerning bicycle owner, Campagnolo’s distinctive groupsets have adorned many a champion’s bike. Campagnolo’s latest top-end groupset, the carbon-infused electronic Super Record EPS, will be on show at The Cycle Show, as will the latest Bora wheelset.

Salice

Official eyewear suppliers to the Italian pro team Lampre-Merida, Salice will return to The Cycle Show with new frames and designs for the 2015 season including the aero-road Bolt helmet. CEO Anna Salice is the third generation to run the company, which maintains its design and manufacture in Italy.

Selle Italia

Probably the best-known saddle manufacturer in the world, Selle Italia has been crafting comfortable rear rests since 1897. Legends of the sport including Francesco Moser, Eddy Merckx and Miguel Indurain have all ridden Selle Italia saddles to victory.

Selle Italia will show a broad range of road, off-road and triathlon saddles in Birmingham this September.

Based in Como, Hersh is a new manufacturer of custom and off-the-peg bikes across all disciplines and specialises in custom artwork frames. Joining fellow Italian brands, Sicieri will be showcasing a new range of alternative, stylish cycling kit.

In addition to these Italian brands, The Cycle Show will also be the place to see bikes from Fondriest, Sarto, Wilier, Pinarello, Bottecchia, Colnago, Cinelli as well as the latest products from FSA, Deda, Vittoria, Sicleri, Selev Helmets, Limar, Fizik and San Marco.
