PIC BY TDWSPORT.COM We've received details of two charity events that may well be worthy of your support, especially if you are UK-based. The first is a charity ride to raise funds for the Douglas MacMillan independent hospice in Stoke-on-Trent on Sunday, May 15. This is the fifth year of the ride, which offers participants three circular route options of either 110 miles, 50 miles or 26 miles. The rides all start at the hospice and there are refreshment stations around the courses. The three routes are: 110 Miles to Llangollen 50 Miles to Nantwich 26 Miles to Madeley The entry fee is £8 pre-entry or £10 on the day. For more information contact fundraising@dmhospice.org.uk or ring the hospice's fundraising department on 01782 344304. The second charity event is a solo ride by Kira Ellis from London to Sydney in aid of the Red Cross and Friends of the Earth. Kira is due to be setting off in June on a trip that is expected to last a year. She says that "apart from a couple of sea crossings it will be totally overland with no cheating! 25,000km in total." She says that all of the money raised will go to the charities involved. Kira stresses that she is covering her own costs for the trip.
