Giancarlo Ferretti's new team, rumoured to be backed by Sony-Ericsson, is beginning to take shape. According to the Italian Tuttobici website, Australians Stuart O'Grady and Matt White are on Ferretti's radar, while Fassa Bortolo riders Gustov, Nibali, Larsson, Facci and Petito have all confirmed. 2004 Italian champion Cristian Moreni is also being linked with the team as are Lampre's Salvatore Commesso and Andrea Tonti (Lampre Caffita), Domina Vacanze's Paolo Valoti, Panaria's Sergei Matveyev and Barloworld's Luca Celli. It is also still rumoured that Gilberto Simoni will be joining the set-up.

Meanwhile, the other big new team for next season, Milram, has added Dutch veteran Maarten den Bakker to its line-up. Milram's soon-to-be local rivals T-Mobile have added Wiesenhof sprinter Andr Greipel to their line-up, and have confirmed the release of Spaniard Paco Lara and Czech Tomas Konecny.

Over in Belgium, the recent takeover of the MrBookmaker.com betting site appears to have freed up some more money for that team, who are being heavily linked with Baden Cooke, Gianluca Bortolami, Jonas Ljungblad and Stefan van Dijck.
