The members of the ring are alleged to have been smuggling doping products from Belgium into France. Former ADR soigneur Freddy Sergeant and his wife, Monique, are alleged to behind the ring and being investigated for the import and "offer to an athlete of a doping product". Former world mountain bike champion Christophe Dupouey was also taken into custody but has been released and placed under judicial control. Among six people arrested in Belgium as part of the same investigation is former pro Jean-Marie Vernie. - Heavily rumoured problems with Comunidad Valenciana's application for Continental team status this season have been resolved. The Spanish squad, until recently backed by Kelme, has been admitted into what is effectively the sport's second division by the International Cycling Union.
