They should be loched upSince Justin Loretz, shivering in a small boat, was 'accidentally' swamped by a careering Rob Warner, hot off the ramp and on his way to his first bath of 1995, MBUK has been big on lake jumping.
It all started at the Malverns and as a way of practising (and watching) mad tricks in comparative safety it can't be beat. We've done lots of lake jumps and taken plenty of stick for it too. "Lake jumping has nothing to do with mountain biking, MBUK, grow up you childish berks and do an article on my first XC race." Is the letter we generally get. Mind you we get exactly the same bollocks when we ride the sea bed, re-invent yet another classic British pantomime, let off the infamous land mine slalom and generally enjoy ourselves.
So it's nice to have some company in iniquity and all power to Siemens for the scale of the event at Fort Bill and the variations - love the high jump and the fireworks. Now why didn't we think of that?
Never mind we probably will next time. In the meantime we have a loose handful of video clips from the event which you will find right here
