Slick N Knobbly Cycling Festival

This summer in the UK sees the launch of the Slick N Knobbly Cycling festival, a new two-day road and mountain bike event. Entries are now open for several of the weekend’s events.

The festival takes place on July 11 and 12 at Glanusk Estate, South Wales, near the Brecon Beacons National Park.

The first day focuses on off-road riding, with a four-hour endurance race in the morning, a short hill climb in the afternoon and a dirt crit to wrap things up in the evening.

The festival moves to the roads on day two, with the Devil Ride Sportive taking competitors through the undulating Welsh valleys. Mountain bikers can still enjoy the Brecon Beacons’ excellent trails while families take a leisurely ride through the estate.

Spot prizes will be awarded throughout the festival, so even less confident and experience riders stand a chance of taking one home.

AQR and MTB Cycle Yorkshire qualified skills coaches and guides will guide riders through a selection of activities, including a section of mini North Shore.

There’ll also be trade stands from Epic Cycles, Back on Track Bikes, Scott, TORQ, AyUp Lights and Cotic, with knowledgeable staff on hand to offer help and advice. Several companies will be bringing demo bikes for riders to try.
