Spanish track cyclist Toni Tauler, a silver medal winner at the Beijing Olympics, has tested positive for a banned substance, Spanish media said Tuesday.

Tauler, 36, a former road cyclist, was tested by the Spanish Cycling Federation before the world championships in Ballerup, Denmark in March, Spain's leading daily El Pais and the sports newspaper AS said, quoting sources close to the federation.

The newspapers said a second analysis is to be carried out.

The federation declined to comment on the reports.

Tauler won a silver medal in the men's Madison event at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing with teammate Joan Llaneras. He undertook the same event in Ballerup with Unai Elloriage, but the pair were forced to drop out.
