Stramash freeride festival

By BikeRadar

A brand new mountain biking event will be held at Glentress in Scotland's Tweed Valley this year the weekend of 19-20 September.

Saturday is a day of slopestyle competition, culminating in a floodlit finale starring top UK freeriders. On Sunday the enduro takes place on the excellent trails at Glentress, with timed descents.

Stramash will be a mini festival, with The Clan trials riders, notably Danny MacAskill, performing regular shows, freeride bikes for demo rides and live music.

Stramash aims to nurture freeride talent so is running slopestyle training and practice jams in July, August and September 2009 for amateur riders looking to get up to competition level.

Stramash Slopestyle entry costs £20 per rider, the enduro £35. For more information on the festival and slopestyle courses, go to www.stramash.com.
