The Colchester Cycle Challenge kicks off on Monday

On Monday September 22nd the CTC Colchester Cycle Challenge begins.

As an incentive to get riders into the town centre, free bike checks from Dr Bike will be available for those who stop at

Culver Street West
. CTC’s Cycle Champions Officer Richard Monk will be there as well, handing out puncture repair kits and other cycling goodies. For any commuters who can’t make it, there’ll also be a display at Colchester North Station from 15:30.

The incentives are in addition to the prizes for winning the challenge, which tasks businesses around the city to get the highest percentage of their workers to ride for 10 minutes during the three week long event.

Richard Monk said: “Hopefully over the next few weeks people will remember the joy of cycling and we’ll see a lot more cyclists on Colchester’s roads – after all, we are an official CyclingTown!”
