Tough Tour of Britain stage route for UK sportive

Test your climbing against the pros

The toughest stage of this year's Tour of Britain will be the route for a challenging 101 mile cyclosportive ride through Shropshire and Worcestershire on Sunday, 26 August: Ride The Route Worcester-Wolverhampton.

The ride follows the route of stage 3 of the Tour of Britain, which the pros will ride 12 September. That's expected to be the crucial stage of the tour as it traverses the Malverns and Shropshire hills before dashing into Wolverhampton to finish on the Aldersley track.

The sportive ride has places for 1,000 riders and features a timed hill climb so you can compare yourself against the pros after the Tour of Britain tackles the same climb.

Ride The Route Worcester-Wolverhampton is a fund-raiser for the British Heart Foundation. The entry fee includes a donation of a minimum of £5 to the foundation whose volunteers will be helping out along the way.

There will be feed stops at 25, 50, and 75 miles with nutrition bars, fruit, water and performance drinks and the route will be fully marked, with static and motorbike marshals.

Entries are open now and close 24 August. Cost is £27.50 (£10 extra for return transport)
