Tour of Britain confirms ’09 race dates

The Tour of Britain organisers have announced that the 2009 edition of the race will start on Saturday, September 12th, meaning a clash with next year's British national time trial championships will be avoided.
Britain's top international professionals missed this year's championships because of a date clash with the Tour of Britain, but with the 2009 championships taking place on September 6th, riders will be able to sidestep any potential scheduling conflict.
The next Tour of Britain will again be given a 2.1 categorisation by the UCI, the sport's governing body. The 2.1 level allows for up to a maximum of 50% of the teams participating to come from the ProTour, meaning that riders from lower division teams can compete against the best.
Despite this year’s event still being fresh in the memory, more than 20 teams have expressed an interest in riding next year.

Not sure that Hugh Porter is a fool but it is fair to say that the commentary wasn't up to the standard we have come to expect from Phil
