Stoke-on-Trent, the host city of the fourth stage of the Tour of Britain, is holding a ‘Pied Piper’ cycling event to promote health, fitness and the 2008 Tour.

The event will take place on 10 September 2008, the morning of the tour’s stage conclusion, with an estimated 350 cyclists taking part in a 10 mile lap of the city to celebrate the prestigious event.

Leading the race will be a collection of cycling enthusiasts, including Stoke City FC's Rory Delap, Port Vale FC goalkeeper Joe Anyon and former Olympian Les West.

Each rider who takes part will be given commemorative medal and T-Shirt, and they’ll also get to ride over the finish point where the professional riders will conclude stage four later in the day.
