The Merida TransWales - the seven-day MTB stage challenge - starts on Saturday 12th August at the White House Farm in Builth Wells, and our sister magazine What Mountain Bike will be hosting a finishing party on Saturday 19th August.

MBUK's Ruth Brooker will be riding on the Monday stage, so cheer her on if you see her on the course.

Registration for the race opens on Saturday at lunchtime which marks the start of the event, and riders will begin the race at 9am the following day. The course takes in seven linking stages and four special stages, covering a distance of nearly 550km.

The first stage [85km] takes riders from Builth Wells towards the Nant-yr-Arian trail centre, and the special stage starts on the second day of racing.

Entries are still being accepted for the event, and will be accepted on the day. For more information see here and here.
