Trek reveal custom Madone designs for Tour de France

By BikeRadar, UK | Thursday, Jun 30, 2011 11.50am

Trek have unveiled a special collection of Madone 6.9 SSLs which will be used by the Radioshack and Leopard Trek teams during the upcoming Tour de France.

Andy and Frank Schleck, Fabian Cancellara and the entire Radioshack team will ride bikes with colours “inspired by the riders themselves”. That means Spartacus-inspired graphics for Cancellara – also applied to his Speed Concept 9.9 time trial bike – a Luxembourg theme for the Schlecks and a clean white, red and black look for the American squad.

Each colour scheme will be available to buy through Trek’s Project One custom bike programme from 1 July. Check out the gallery for a closer look at the designs.

  • I wonder how well they'll do with those weird oblong wheels?

  • sigh....I like Project One paint....but seriously I cared little and now starting to not care at all. Show us the next 2012 Trek Road model already!

  • They are SWEET!! I don't know how well they will stick out on the Tour amongst the other more colourful bikes, but I really want one. Shame I just bought one a month ago with the older paint job! :p

  • Whilst I'm very much looking forward to watching the Tour, I don't see why there's all this fuss over a paint job and some stickers.

    Let's see some

  • someone has already jumped on the bandwagon
