Mammoth trails under development in America
The East Coast Greenway is a developing trail system, spanning nearly 3,000 miles between Canada and Key West, linking all the major cities of the eastern seaboard. Over 21 percent of the route is on safe, traffic-free paths, the rest using road sections. In time the aim is to have all 3,000 miles traffic-free!
Trans Canada Trail - a 21,500-kilometre recreational trail from the Atlantic to Pacific to Arctic Oceans. When completed, it will be the world's longest recreational trail. Currently some 70 percent (14,500 kilometres) is available to walk, hike, cycle, ski, horseback ride, canoe and snowmobile.
