Brandon Semenuk (Trek C3) took victory in the Redbull Joyride slopestyle comp at the Kokanee Crankworx bike festival in Whistler, Canada this weekend with an incredible run that culminated in a flawless flip-whip.

The trick – in which the bike is kicked 360 degrees while the rider spins the same rotation during a backflip – propelled the Canadian to the top of the podium and gave him his elusive first win at Crankworx, in front of a crowd of 25,000.

Second place went to Cameron Zink (US|Evil Bikes), while fellow Canuck Anthony Messere (Morpheus Cycles) took third. “What’s remarkable about Brandon’s win is just how flawless every single landing was,” said freeride pioneer Andrew Shandro. "He really represents the beginning of what slopestyle competitors who grew up riding bike parks are going to bring to the sport."
