Video: ChainReactionCycles/Intense downhill team

Behind-the-scenes and race footage from Andorra

Team ChainReactionCycles/Intense have just returned from the third round of the Nissan UCI World Cup in Andorra, and are now preparing to race at BikeRadar Live this weekend.

The team had a mixed weekend of racing in Valnord, with Australian Chris Kovarik finishing 12th, Ruaridh Cunningham coming in 36th and Matt Simmonds in 49th place. Despite a crash in his final run, Frenchman Julien Camellini crossed the line in 13th.

Team manager Nigel Page said: “Julien clipped a rock with his pedal and smashed into a tree hard with his hand. How he finished 13th after this was pretty amazing but unfortunately with a 'quick' three-hour trip to the hospital we found out he had broken the fifth metacarpal bone in his left hand and pushed his knuckle back. He should hopefully be back for round five in Maribor, where he finished second last year.”

You can watch Team ChainReactionCycles/Intense in action at BikeRadar Live this weekend (30-31 May) where they’ll be racing in the Mountain Biking UK Eliminator dual slalom.

Nigel said: “We’re excited to be competing in the MBUK Eliminator dual slalom. It looks like the BikeRadar event will be one of the biggest on the calendar this year in the UK and dual slalom is always great racing and brilliant for the spectators, as the racing is always close.”
