Described as "a fast-growing urban sport with thousands of rabid enthusiasts the world over", this video, created by the players themselves, follows the 2009 season of international tournaments held in Europe and North America.
Written off by some as just a fad for fixed gear fashionistas, the sport was apparently included in the 1908 London Olympic Games and was hugely popular in the wake of the First World War, with even the likes of the Duke of Edinburgh picking up a mallet.

I feel compelled to point out the guy doing an endo in the accompanying photo is from The Toffs, one of Oxford's bike polo teams.
If anyone wants to join in there groups all over the UK. The UK Championships are coming up next month (17-18 April, Manchester), followed by the European Championships (16-18 July, Geneva) and the World Championships (13-15 August, Berlin).
