Last month, the guys over on Mountain Biking UK found themselves on the start line of the Alpe d’Huez Megavalanche, a mountain biking event like no other.
Starting 11,000ft up at the summit of Pic Blanc, the 200 rider, mass-start race descends a whopping 8,600ft to Allemont, some 25km away. If the sheer physicality involved doesn’t get you, an off amongst the hurly burly of 200 competitive mountain bikers probably will. Check out the short highlights video below of how the guys fared.
