Video: Rocky Mountain's Altitude 29er
BikeRadar met with Rocky Mountain Bicycles' engineering project leader Joanne Hughes at the Sea Otter Classic to learn more about the 2010 Altitude 29er.
There's 120mm of front and rear travel, courtesy of Rocky Mountain’s new SmoothLink four-bar suspension design. The frame will be built with a custom FORM29 hydro formed 7005 aluminium tubeset.

Rocky Mountain will also include the StraightUp geometry’s extra-steep 76-degree seat tube. A low center of gravity maintains stability, and the 50mm decreased standover height allows smaller riders to enjoy a 29er.
Up front, a tapered head tube will be ready to accept a tapered 1-1/8” to 1-1/2” steerer and clearances will be wide enough to accept aggressive 2.3-inch rubber.
Look for the new model available at Rocky Mountain dealers this fall.
