Greg Minnaar catching a bit of air. Santa Cruz Bicycles
The downhill World Cup season has rolled into its final stretch, with two events remaining spaced apart on opposite sides of the globe. After a mid-summer break following the World Championships, the athletes and their respective team entourages washed up in eastern Canada for a pair of World Cup races.
"For the Santa Cruz Syndicate, it was almost as sweet as could be," said Santa Cruz spokesman Michael Ferrentino. "Greg Minnaar briefly took the lead in the World Cup overall points following his win in Mont Sainte Anne, only to lose it one race later in Bromont to a resurgent Sam Hill. Regardless, the Syndicate has put a mugging on the overall team classification, and the World Cup individual points chase coming into these final events in Australia and Austria is so tight that you could throw a blanket over the leading four riders. This season's going down to the wire."
Famous last words, probably. Anyway, for your viewing pleasure, here is a brace of videos from the last two rounds in Mont Sainte Anne and Bromont chronicling the fortunes of the Santa Cruz Syndicate.
