    Incredible sprint by McEwen! He only got back on the bunch with 5km to go! He came up the middle with Hushovd and Boonen trying to follow, but held them off by a clear margin. Hushovd second, Boonen third, and Cancellara keeps the yellow jersey.

    That was a Canterbury tale and a half...

    Zabel is in third wheel as he gets a leadout but it's too early. Then Degano takes a flyer...Vaitkus on his wheel, then Napolitano and Freire. But Robbie McEwen comes up the outside and takes and incredible stage win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1km to go as De Jongh leads for Boonen. Milram is up there in numbers for Zabel.

    Sieberg comes up for Milram, challenging the Quick.Step train. It's all blue as they race aroun the castle.

    Distance remaining: 2KM

    They take the left hander that will lead them to the ring road. Four Quick.Steps plus one Gerolsteiner challenging for position. Tosatto is in front with 2km to go.

    Righi swings off then Ballan takes over as they hit Canterbury. It's all Quick.Step now.

    Lampre's Righi and Ballan are leading up to 4km to go, then a host of Quick.Steps behind them. McEwen's will have a bit of work to get back up...

    Astana is up there keeping their captains out of trouble, but they have no sprinter. Quick.Step have the numbers. McEwen's group might just have got back onto the peloton.

    6km left and Lampre leads the peloton for their men Bennati and Napolitano. Boonen is well placed in the Quick.Step train, and he looks to be the favourite for today.
