What a story, this guy is amazing.
The expression" been there done that" comes to mind!

A good article about him in Cycle Sport this month too. Unfortunately, the very characteristics that help to produce a top competitive athlete are the same sorts of personality traits that can lead to addictions and obsessions, whether it's a drug addiction or an obsession with body image, food and problems with eating disorders. He has a new focus in life which is good, but his personality traits could put him in danger of reverting to self-destructive habits and behaviours if he ever experiences professional disappointments or problems in his personal life again. I hope that having a supportive team and partner/family/friends will be enough to help him to be able to get through those times if/when they arise, without it all going horribly wrong again, but it'll still come down mostly to his own desire and ability to cope with such problems. Good luck to him.
