  • Is the blood from other riders he has knocked off?

    Where is the 2 fingered salute in the paint-job?

  • If I undersand right, Cavendish's saddle is only 25mm behind the bottom bracket (the first picture shows the bike with a relatively far mounted saddle). If this would be the case, it would be irregular. According the UCI it must be 50mm minimum behind the bottom bracket.

    Have the UCI rules changed or does Cavendish taking the risk to be disqualified?

  • Yeah it's not really clear where the 25mm measurement's taken from, top of seat tube perhaps??

  • Mark Cavendish, dont cry I will take you to Chuck e' Cheese tonight and buy you a large double sausage pizza!

    And when we go home you can watch your favorite episode of Star Wars...

    Cavendish = FAIL

  • such a chav...

  • Saddlebag? - not very prorace is it? They could have come up a more elegant bespoke solution. What next a dynamo to keep the phone battery charged?

  • mcrdave,

    A small saddlebag is likely the lightest and simplest option for carrying something like a phone.

    mcj78,

    Convention for saddle setback is the horizontal distance between the tip of the saddle and the center of the bottom bracket. We used a plumb bob (with the bike flipped both ways to correct for ground tilt) and confirmed the measurement with the mechanics.

    As for the UCI regulation (we asked about that, too), the mechanic told us that the UCI only cares about that figure on TT bikes. And Mark may have a morphological exemption, too, since he's not very tall. Either way, the 25mm figure is correct.

  • Does he really carry the phone? Isn't he worried about the 200grams of excess weight? ;-)

    In the article on tyre sealants the mechanics assert that riders are fanatical about weight - all 30grams of it in the sealant's case - and so don't use it...

    Now, I know 30grams on the outside of a wheel is different to 30grams somewhere else on the bike, but does it equate to more than 200grams under the seat?

    Or does it weight less when sponsor-provided..?

  • How tall is he? I can never tell while watching ppl on tv. Nice bike, can't say the same about the paint job though. Oh well...
