South Africa's Greg Minaar was the quickest of the elite men in the downhill seeding run, which was held on Friday in Fort William. Minaar was just 6 hundredths of a second quicker than Britain's Gee Atherton, with Frenchman Julien Camellini third at 3.88 seconds.

In the women's seeding, British pair Rachel Atherton and Tracy Moseley were the top two qualifiers, ahead of France's Emmeline Ragot. A fairly hefty 13.22 seconds separated the top three.

The downhill finals will be held on Sunday.
