California 5: Leipheimer wins time trial, still in gold

Astana leader smokes Millar by 29 seconds

Astana's Levi Leipheimer blazed through the 15-mile individual time trial around Solvang today to win Stage 5 of the Amgen Tour of California. His winning time was 30.47, just 29 seconds ahead of Slipstream-Chipotle racer David Millar.

American Christian Vande Velde (Slipstream-Chipotle) finished third, 45 seconds off Leipheimer's pace. Teammates Millar and Vande Velde sit second and third in the general classification as well, a result of their impressive race against the clock today. Reigning world champion Fabian Cancellara (CSC) finished fifth in Solvang.
