Tour of Britain 6: Petacchi wins again

Italian claims his second stage

Italian Alessandro Petacchi (LPR Brakes) won his second stage of the 2008 Tour of Britain, this time outsprinting Great Britain's Rob Hayles and double stage winner Edval Boasson Hagen to the line in Stage 7 after 156km into Gateshead Friday.

Pinarello-RT teammates Russell Downing and 47-year-old Malcolm Elliott finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Agritubel's Geoffroy Lequarte holds the leader's yellow jersey going into Stage 7, ahead of Barloworld's Steve Cummings and Garmin-Chipotle's Daniel Martin.
