BMC trims models, lowers prices for 2010

Did we mention massive and boxy down below?

  • The 2010 BMC RaceMaster SLX01 remains unchanged from 2009, but with lower pricing.
  • One of BMC's signature design stylings: squared and tapered carbon mated to aluminium.
  • It may look like an anvil, but it rides like cake.
  • A carbon front end allows BMC to mould everything once, versus adding another step for the derailleur cabling.
  • BMC's own 220g carbon Streampost 73.5 only needs a turn of the upper bolt to tighten.
  • Massive tapered carbon seatstays meet up with large, boxed aluminum chainstays to stiffen things up for climbing and sprinting.

  • Of course, massive chainstays are only possible with an oversized bottom bracket area.
  • BikeRadar's US editor after a nice gallop on the Race Master in Sun Valley.
  • The BMC SLC01 Pro Machine with Ultegra SL for US$3,849.
