Last week, UK distributors i-ride opened their doors to BikeRadar to give us a sneak peek at a few 2014 highlights, including the new Catlike Mixino helmet, a 3T base bar prototype and the updated De Rosa Milanino.
Read on and see our image gallery, right, for more details. US pricing and availability is to be announced. Where UK prices aren’t provided they’re to be confirmed.
Catlike Mixino helmet
The Mixino is the new range-topping road helmet from Catlike, using a lightweight aramid roll cage within the EPS foam core. The new design also features reinforcements around the rim of the helmet, which Catlike claim adds better protection from accidental damage.
The shape was derived after Computational Fluid Dynamics studies into both aerodynamics and airflow. The helmet features 39 vents designed to push air across your head, regulating temperature.

The new retention system features both vertical and horizontal adjustment, with added pads at the base of the skull. Catlike claim that the Outlast padding technology absorbs heat better than standard pads, adding to overall comfort.
New 3T time trial bar
We also got an early look at a new time trial bar from 3T at i-ride. While the base bar isn’t confirmed for launch anytime soon, it’s been designed around a blend of aerodynamics and ergonomics. The swoopy hydroformed shape is said to offer excellent comfort levels and put your hands in an optimal position.

The clamps and extensions will be offered in a whole host of options to suit, and it’s rumoured that a single clamp design will run throughout the whole 3T range, making extensions and base bars fully interchangeable no matter what model (or price point) you favour.
De Rosa Milanino gets a refresh
The Milanino has been in the De Rosa range for a good few years now, but the Italian-made aluminium frame has had a makeover for the new season. Gone are the large fishscale welds, in favour of a super-smooth joint finish reminiscent of vintage Cannondale and Klein builds.
