Pro Bike: Alberto Contador's Astana Trek Madone

Like Contador did before the Giro, the bike also got some sun at the beach.

  • Alberto Contador's Trek Madone 5.2 is the latest evolution in the company's top range of bikes.
  • The bike uses a SRAM Red chainset rather than the Dura-Ace model found on last year's Trek.
  • Contador's footsies go here, the Look KeO Carbon being his pedal of choice.
  • A titanium cage drops a lot of weight here as compared to a steel one.
  • The rear derailleur is fitted with ceramic bearings in the pulleys.
  • The Red levers use SRAM's unique DoubleTap method of shift actuation and adjustable reach
  • The flat top of the hood provides a comfortable perch on which Contador can rest his hands.
  • Cane Creek provides the team with a custom version of its excellent 110 headset.
