After a cycling challenge that's also an amazing experience? You could win a place on Velothon Wales, a closed-road sportive through the stunning countryside of South Wales.

We've got 10 places to give away for the 140km route as part of our Get Britain Riding campaign, which will take you on a wonderfully scenic route with challenging climbs and spectacular roads. With closed roads the whole way round, all you'll have to think about is pacing yourself and enjoying those views!

Velothon Wales

Velothon Wales takes place on Sunday 9 July, and starts and ends in Cardiff.

The 140km sportive takes you along the Welsh coastline with sweeping views of the Bristol Channel before heading inland and uphill, climbing past the food station in Usk up to Abergavenny in the Brecon Beacons.

On the way home you'll ride past Pontypool and Caerphilly before your triumphant return to Cardiff city centre.

Over the course of the route you'll climb a total of 1,822m / 5,990ft, and along the way you'll have access to multiple feed stations and mechanical support to ensure you're fully fed and supported the whole way around.

For the competitive riders out there, there will be prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female riders, plus King and Queen of the Mountain challenges.

Before and after your ride you can peruse the event Expo, where there'll be loads of the latest brands, gear and clothing.

NOTE: Closing date of the competition is 23:59 on the 11 June 2017.

The Promoter is Immediate Media Company Bristol Limited

Theses promotions are open to all residents of the UK, including the Channel Islands, aged 18 years or older, except the Promoter’s or Velothon employees or contractors and anyone connected with the promotions or their direct family members.

The closing date for entries is 11/06/2017 at 23:59.

By entering these promotions, the participants agree:

(a)    to be bound by these terms and conditions;

(b)   that their surname and county of residence may be released if they win a prize; and

(c)    that should they win the promotion, their name and likeness may be used by the Promoter for pre-arranged promotional purposes.

Entrants must supply to Immediate Media Company Limited their full name and email address in the Typeform provided.  The Promoter will use entrants’ personal details in accordance with the Immediate Privacy Policy (

Only one entry will be permitted per person, regardless of method of entry.  Bulk entries made by third parties will not be permitted.

The winning entrants will be drawn at random from all the correct entries after the closing date.  The Promoter’s decision as to the winner is final and no correspondence relating to the promotion will be entered into.  The winner will be notified within 14 days of the close of the promotion by post/telephone/email.

Prize: win one of ten places to ride the Velothon Wales 140km sportive. There are no cash alternatives and the prize is not transferable. Prizes must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of the same or greater value.

A list of winners can be obtained by sending an SAE to Sports Group, 2nd Floor, Tower House, Fairfax St, Avon, Bristol BS1 3BN, within six weeks of the closing date.

The Promoter reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions or to cancel, alter or amend the promotion at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside of its control.

The Promoter does not accept any responsibility for lost, delayed or fraudulent entries.

If the winner is unable to be contacted within 4 days of being notified, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to a runner up, or to re-offer the prize in any future promotion.

The Promoter excludes liability to the full extent permitted by law for any loss, damage or injury occurring to the participant arising from his or her entry into the promotion or occurring to the winner arising from his or her acceptance of a prize.
