Electron 16 LED System
BikeRadar verdict
"High visibility and neat battery but too weak for serious use"
Budget light providers Electron go fly-eyed with this pair of multi LED headlamps, but the output doesn't match the overall design detail.
The mid-sized head units each contain eight LEDs, which gives the lights great visibility in terms of traffic spotting you. Unfortunately, they only shed a rather dim glow on the trail and you'll be unable to pick out much detail. Flicking the remote switch to fire up both lights doesn't add any depth to vision either, although breadth is increased if you angle them right.
The smooth Ni-Mh battery cell is impressively lightweight for the amount of run time you get, and the bag can be strapped on most places on a conventional tubular frame. There's also a coiled connector wire that stretches to the seat post if you find that you need it.
The charger has an indicator light at least and the set comes in a soft case too, which is good for the price.
