Lupine Betty 7 Front Light (10) | $1167.33
BikeRadar verdict
"Super-powerful single headlamp, with some neat features but a massive price"
Lupine have always liked to push the limits, but big Betty is up against some stiff competition this year.
Seven Seoul P4 LEDs make the 2009 Betty 7 brighter than ever, with a super-broad shotgun spread that lights up absolutely everything.
Its reach is fantastic, although some of its cheaper twin-lamp competitors (the Lumi LED System 3 Elite 26 and Tiger Light Twin LED sets, for example) are significantly brighter when both lamps are lit.
The preset ‘low’ rating is way too feeble after full blast, so the remote switch needs to be programmed straight away. Its weight is low though, and it’s easy to fit, thanks to the small battery O-ring mount.
A head mount, extension lead, car charger, sealant grease and a smart full data charger are included, but it’s still obscenely expensive.

Anyone that pays almost 700quid for a light must be nuts. You could buy two Macshines every year for the next 7 years for that price and probably two Macshines would be just as bright as the Lupine Betty.

optical express could probably laser in night vision for less! i would rather buy 4 exposure joysticks, at least if one failed you would have back up. way to much but there is clearly a market for the nutters

Having been lucky enough to have used a Lupine light I can honestly say you get a superb light, the beam pattern and light spread are so much better than on cheaper lights. Yes, it is expensive, but if you have the money to spend on something like this it is worth it.

You can buy them oldies from retailers stocking older items. Check the lupine webshop directly, they already list the Betty as a 1750 lumen XP-G light. I'm not sure that Zyro (the UK distributor) have received the upgraded units yet.
Also check the beamshots in the (German) forum, based on the pictures the upgraded Betty is about twice as bright as the old one...

Have just checked the Lupine website and the new Lupine Betty with 1750 Lumens is €540. Which is considerably cheaper than 699quid. However its still far too expensive for me.

With bar mount and helment mount 200 lumens. So thats 1100 lumens for £159. I ride twice and week in the dark, Off road and these are very very bright. If one goes i still have, one or the other.
