Goodbye Batteries LED Lights

These are a rather creative answer to lighting systems. Powered by two large magnets on the spokes (a little smaller than wheel reflectors, with each rotation of the wheel an LED lamp is powered.
As the lamps are attached with the axles this seems to work best with bolted, non-quick release skewers, which should make them less appealing to the light fingered. Despite being thin, pressed metal affairs, the mounting brackets seem reasonably robust, although positioning a lamp this low might make it more vulnerable to road debris.
Fitting is simple, although in a similar fashion to setting up a cycle computer magnet/sensor interface requires careful alignment. This is rewarded by a reasonably bright flashing display, although it is important to remember they are only intended as secondary lighting and should be coupled with a decent primary dynamo/battery system.
These lights are ideal for a commuter/utility hack, although improvements to the bracket are needed and while I never experienced any difficulties during testing, I dislike brackets mounted so low down or those that could collide with spokes. In the same fashion as LED lighting 15 years ago, these have potential to further revolutionise secondary lighting but need a little refinement for mass appeal.
