Camelbak Daystar

BikeRadar verdict

4 out of 5 stars

"A Camelbak with all the functionality especially designed to fit the female form."

By Cara Coolbaugh

The Daystar features a superior, truly women specific fit. The harness has a shorter back length and the shoulder straps are comfortably shaped to fit around the bust. Plus, they're set closer at the top to accommodate narrower physiques.

An adjustable sternum strap is placed higher (no nipple rub!) while the removable waistbelt curves over the hips. Interestingly, the shoulder straps are adjusted from the bottom - not as easy to tug tight on the fly. Camelbak bladders are reliable and the tube comes with an on/off switch and a bite valve cover to keep it clean. The 2 litre bladder is easy to access from its own zippered compartment, which keeps it cooler.

Our only gripe is that the hose has nowhere to hang so it tends to dangle. Total cargo capacity is 14 litres, with numerous organiser pockets and a music pouch. The daisy chain looks purposeful but a bungee would be more useful - as would some reflective piping.
