"A good fitting windproof gilet for women, but not cheap"

The Vento vest comes from Gore's Windstopper women's line, and it's made from the fabric of the same name, so it's excellent for providing protection against the cold, bitter wind. Although it's lightweight, it's not overly fragile and it's also highly breathable and resistant to light rain. The mesh panel insert in the back ensures maximum ventilation, and the long back ensures that drafts stay out.

 

The cut is close, with an elasticated hem around the bottom and shoulders, which means that it fits well and won't bunch up. The vest also folds down neatly into a small pouch so you can easily store it in your backpack.
