BBB Aquashield Gloves
BikeRadar verdict
"Wind, waterproof and snug fitting gloves that lack only reflective strips"
When a new pair of BBB's Aquashield gloves arrived we thought they'd addressed our main complaint: that they had no reflectives. In fact that grey band across the back of the glove is just that: grey. It'll be easier to see in headlights than a black glove back, but it's not reflective.
Otherwise, they're the same gloves we know and like. A layer of breathable polyurethane called Eurotex makes them windproof and waterproof - even to the point of immersion - despite the fact that the outer layer gets soggy.
The palm has a gel pad over the ulnar nerve area and the whole palm is reinforced with a fake leather called Vitech.
The stretchy cuff is long and snug, and the insulated inner glove is fleecy. The thumb has a towelling wipe. Grip and dexterity are good, and they're good to (just) sub-zero temperatures. Altura's Shield glove still edges ahead of this, while the Specialized Radiant is better still but a tenner more.
