Specialized Bicycles Taho Shoes
BikeRadar verdict
"A classic, well made design with an accent on MTB looks"
Specialized's Taho shoes have been around for some time now, under the veil of a new palette of colours each season. It’s no bad thing, as they’re among our favourites, feeling good both on and off the bike.
The sole’s stiff for efficient pedalling, with enough give for walking around too, as well as lugs for scrambling around. Protective stitching at the toe bumper stops it from peeling away.
As with all Specialized shoes, the proprietary Body Geometry system uses a metatarsal button in the forefoot of the sole that helps reduce compression, and an angled wedge to help alleviate knee problems.
It’s subtler than the road shoes, so you don’t notice it too much when you’re off the bike. There’s a big reflective patch at the back, and a Velcro strap for keeping loose lace ends at bay.
