Braking bling that performs too
Carbon rim stoppers
Brake blocks for Shimano callipers
Sound investment in stopping power
Carbon rimmed wheels are becoming ever more affordable and popular in time trial and road racing circles. But standard brake pads on a carbon brake surface often grab and judder the wheel, and lock up easily.
North Wales based Fibrax produce these salmon-coloured brake blocks with an X-pattern to help move debris and improve performance in wet weather.
You can pay £24.95 for a pair of Shimano Dura-Ace cartridge brake blocks or £13.99 for a full set of Campagnolo Chorus/Record ones, or you can pay £7 and get slightly better performance with these Mavic replacements.
